About Itek Energy

Our Mission is to Power a Thriving Future

Itek Energy is strengthening communities, growing a green economy, and creating U.S. jobs through a dedication to environmental stewardship.

Our Story

Inspired by the challenges our world faces through a dependence on fossil fuels, John Flanagan–Founder and CEO of Itek Energy–envisioned providing the world with a clean energy alternative by investing in a solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility. Since beginning production in 2012, Itek has shipped enough clean, renewable energy to power over 4,000 homes.

Itek’s flagship facility is located less than 90 minutes north of Seattle in Bellingham, Washington, and we pride ourselves on providing the world with high-quality, assembled-in-America solar modules. Itek’s experienced engineers, operators, and management team share John’s passion for solar energy and are dedicated to making a positive impact at a local, national, and global level.

Our Facilities

Bellingham, WA Facility

Itek Energy began producing high-efficiency solar modules and grid-tie inverters in our Bellingham, Washington factory in late 2011. Since then, our company has grown to over 80 employees, large enough to meet solar needs on a national scale, but small enough to stay nimble and relevant in an ever-changing industry.

All Itek Energy Photovoltaic Modules are completely assembled in our Bellingham-based facility. Rigorous quality-control processes–including stringent material assessment, reoccurring electroluminescent imaging of each module, and 100% visual inspection–ensure a top-quality end product ready for deployment. Our products carry a Made-in-Washington certification and qualify for both federal and state incentives.

Production at our facility is powered by our own solar array on the building’s south roof, with plans for expansion to pursue 100% energy offset! We have also partnered with Sustainable Connections in line with the Toward Zero Waste movement to further strengthen our ties to the community and sustainable manufacturing.

Minneapolis, MN Facility

Itek Energy started production in its Minneapolis, Minnesota facility in November of 2014. The 22,000 square foot building located just outside of downtown Minneapolis formerly housed a machine shop and paint factory and has since been rehabilitated and re-branded “GRID”- The Greenway Resource for Integrated Design. Direct access to the Twin Cities Midtown Greenway Bicycle Path and proximity to the University of Minnesota and the Mississippi River make this site another example of our leadership in modern sustainable manufacturing.
